Corporate Functions

The Chief Finance Office (CFO) is the largest of our corporate functions. We safely and correctly process the millions of transactions a month that enable us to interact efficiently with our suppliers, customers, trading partners and regulators. We make sure that the Company is properly funded and well controlled, that our taxes are paid and that shareholders and banks continue to support our plans. We report all of this activity to the business and external audiences in a way that is both informative and vital to the team who lead and manage the business. Our commercial teams help ensure that the business takes sound decisions through robust planning, careful pricing, sound contracts, skilled procurement and rigorous evaluation of every major business decision.

The Chief Corporate Affairs Office (CAO) oversees three areas – Company Secretarial, Legal and Compliance – to achieve one aim: to ensure that Inmarsat operates at the highest level of governance in how to do business globally. We cover a wide range of areas including worldwide legal issues, company compliance, Inmarsat plc Board services, risk management, export control issues, as well as management of all share schemes.

The Chief Strategy & Marketing (CSM) office comprises two distinct but interconnected functions. The Marketing function is responsible for promoting and protecting the Inmarsat brand, ensuring clear and consistent messaging across all business units and corporate functions, while supporting revenue generation through the strategic deployment of product marketing, marketing communications, advertising, government relations, digital platforms and corporate communications. We engage with our partners, influencers and end-users through multiple channels including the Inmarsat partner community, the media, government and regulators. The Strategy function is responsible group-wide global strategy and business development initiatives. By evaluating market and competitor intelligence, mergers and acquisitions, and joint venture opportunities, we support decision-making. We lead on long term development projects with material impact across the business, as well as offering support for key BU-specific related projects

The Chief People Office (CPO) comprises a HR Business Partnering function who deliver people services with the support of the Centres of Excellence – Reward, Resourcing, HR Services & Systems, Organisational Effectiveness & Engagement & Communication.  Our purpose is twofold; to drive business performance and enabling our people to be brilliant. Our vision is to become a first-class, highly professional, commercially focused HR team with a delivery mind set, clarity of purpose, a passion for making a difference and an appetite for growth.
