Job Description

Primary role purpose:

We are currently presenting an exciting opportunity for a Transfer Pricing Manager to join our Tax team which is within the Finance Division of Inmarsat’s business. The Tax function is outward facing and proactive in its management of Inmarsat’s tax affairs.

The role will report into the Group Tax Manager and will assist in the management of the Group’s tax affairs in particular as it relates to transfer pricing.  The role will be responsible for managing all the transfer pricing affairs globally, including planning together with compliance and reporting as well as developing strong partnerships with the Business Units and other functions.  In addition to strong tax technical capabilities, the candidate must demonstrate proven project management skills across multi-functional teams.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational transfer pricing calculations for the statutory accounts
  • Maintenance of Masterfile
  • Managing the preparation of local files by advisors
  • Preparation of Country by country reporting and overseas notifications
  • Monitoring OECD and local country developments for new compliance requirements
  • Reviewing profitability of companies within the group to ensure local transfer pricing requirements are met
  • Working with the International Tax Manager to advise, with input from advisors as relevant, on permanent establishment risks and mitigation strategies, proactively managing the risk for the Group
  • Advising on customer, vendor and intercompany services agreements
  • Advising, with input from advisors as relevant, on intragroup funding policy
  • Assistance with tax authority enquiries and audit defence
  • Provide support to the Tax Group outside of immediate responsibilities, as required which may include assistance with statutory accounts preparation, tax return preparation or other UK filings.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Relevant degree
  • Professional certification (ideally CTA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Consummate commercial experience gained in Big 4/Tier A accountancy firm or Blue Chip in-house tax department
  • Strong tax technical skills across all areas of transfer pricing
  • Experience of corporation tax compliance and reporting
  • Good computer skills including Excel
  • Ability to create positive relationships across multiple jurisdictions and cultures

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • In house experience in telecoms, technology or similar organisation
  • Tax accounting under IFRS
  • SAP
