Job Description

Primary role purpose:

As a Systems Analyst, you will be a member of the Service Delivery & Billing Applications team within Group IT.  You will be working on an integrated business critical applications responsible for customer activations and order management.  You will use your combined experience and technical aptitude to work within an enterprise wide programme that transforms existing Service Delivery applications into a new strategic architecture.  You will have a sound, end-to-end, understanding of Service Delivery concepts in a telecommunications industry.  The successful candidate thrives on change, and can easily adapt to new technologies.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide design and technical guidance to the Service Delivery implementation partner to interpret technical requirements and business needs into system solutions.
  • Mentor and nurture team members in delivering sustainable solution designs in a consistent and structured way. 
  • Establish an efficient collaborative working relationship with the business and technical teams to promote solution designs.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements during the Low Level Design phase of the programme with a view to exploit market best practices and core Provisioning and Order Management system features.
  • Ensure that the business stakeholders have a good appreciation of what is practical within the core provisioning and order management system features, specifically the key benefits and boundaries.     
  • Providing Business Analysts and Enterprise Architects with advice and guidance to help qualify the feasibility of a particular approach.
  • Identify and understand the integration & customisation points of the solution.
  • Be a key contributor of the Technical governance forum to ensure that all system activities, including technical system change notes, system defect resolutions, system releases, and ongoing developments are complementary and do not have an adverse impact on project schedules or business expectations. 
  • Be responsible for and contribute to multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Be the key contact for third parties to qualify and verify proposals and designs.
  • Work with the IT Infrastructure, Architecture & Delivery team and the Corporate Network team to create suitable and specific environments for development and test streams.
  • Provide advice and guidance to IT Service Delivery & Billing Applications Support, Billing/Finance operations teams and the QA & Test team as appropriate.
  • Keep abreast of new industry developments and gain an understanding on how new and emerging technologies are being deployed by carriers. 
  • Have the ability to present appropriately depending on audiences.  From detailed technical discussions through executive reporting and presentations.
  • Occasional management of projects or deliverables will be required.

  • Service-oriented architecture principles, microservice design, and Restful services
  • Agile methods
  • Unit Testing and test script preparation
  • Containerisation (Docker) and Management

  • Nokia (Comptel) Provisioning & Activation (Order Hub, OpenAM, Order Management, Catalogue, etc)
  • DevOps, CI/CD (Git/Jenkins)
  • XML, XLST and WSDL
  • JSON and OpenAPIs/Swagger/RAML
  • Cloud computing and deployment technologies including AWS EC2, RDS, S3, IAM
  • Modelling languages such as Archimate and UML
  • Model Driven Software Architecture
  • Sparx Enterprise Architect
  • TM Forum Standards (SID)
  • Spring Boot and Camel
  • Kubernetes and Openshift experience
