Job Description

Primary role purpose:

A contract opportunity has arisen in the Group Financial Reporting team for a qualified accountant to:

  • Assist with year end reporting and act as an interim Senior group accountant during the peak period.
  • Manage the subsidiary statutory reporting process.

The role requires a Senior Accountant who will bring energy and expertise to this dynamic, diverse and highly acquisitive company.

They will need to influence the regional Finance teams, the local Finance teams, the outsourced teams and the central functional teams.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the preparation of quarterly and annual Group financial statements including the earnings release and the Group statutory accounts.
  • Support the review of new IFRS requirements and/or regulatory issues and recommend how the business should prepare to meet them.
  • Preparation of statutory accounts (in multiple currencies) for multiple entities within the group and prepared using various standards including EU-IFRS, FRS 101, and a number of overseas GAAPs.
  • Interacting with the auditors, being the first point of call for questions raised on the statutory accounts and working closely with the Group Finance team to find the most efficient and effective solutions to any problems which may arise.
  • Managing all stakeholders including the Financial Controller, CoSec, FP&A and other members of the extended finance team.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate completion of both consolidated results and statutory accounts.
  • Pro-actively seeking areas to improve both the statutory reporting process and the external audit and related internal processes.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA or overseas equivalent) from the Big 4
  • Management or supervisory experience
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS and UK plc disclosure requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Experience with complex consolidations in a multinational company environment, including working together with international colleagues
  • Strong knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, v look ups etc.)
  • Flexible, hard-working and results oriented
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience of SAP would be an advantage but is not essential
