About the role:

Want to be a part of the team responsible for revolutionising the way our customers do business with Inmarsat? We’re well on the way to replacing our core BSS and OSS stack, and taking every opportunity to put the customer first, developing enhanced UI and API interfaces, ensuring each of our customers has the right, accessible, easy to use tools so they can quickly get what they want when they want it.

You will be working extensively with multiple components of our micro services architecture in our Customer Experience domain, such as Product Catalogue, Quote, Ordering and Support. Most of them are cloud services hosted in AWS and Google using cool technologies like Mongo DB, Kubernetes and Docker in a continuous delivery and automated testing environment.. You’ll also be part of our BA Community, working alongside a Principal BA whose role is to help make you and all our BAs be the very best they can be. We will be as passionate about your development as a business analyst as you are. You will be invited to community events, BA sessions and Meet Ups to support you in your career.

Job Requirements

What’s involved:

  • You will be responsible for end to end requirements management and will work to deliver business requirements across the entire project and product lifecycle, from initial discovery through to launch and benefit realisation, driving forward new features that we can unlock as we move to a cloud first infrastructure.
  • Lead refinement sessions and participating in stand ups, reviews, retrospectives and product demonstrations
  • Elicit, understand, document and prioritise high level business requirements and turn them into accurate user stories that the scrum teams you work with can deliver
  • Develop, prioritise and maintain the backlog of user stories ongoing for implementation
  • Define NFRs and their importance in truly delivering business value, with a keen eye on performance and security
  • Work with Architecture, Data Science and Solution Delivery teams throughout the lifecycle of the project, ensuring that requirements are delivered at all required stages
  • Review and providing feedback on user stories delivered, demonstrating product deliverables and sharing your team’s success stories with the rest of the business
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and needs at various levels throughout the business
  • Own the area’s requirements, by establishing and maintaining a strong relationship with Product Management, continually enhancing your expertise of the area and assessing the potential impact of any changes
  • Work closely with the Delivery Teams & Product Manager to create a fantastic and collaborative working environment
  • Champion the delivery customer value quickly, iterating and learning – comfortable pushing back and challenging status quo
  • Articulate technical pieces of work specifically illustrating the business value

  • Experience leading business analysis in a complex environment, working with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • A passion for back-end technology/working with API teams
  • Proven involvement with Customer Experience-related projects
  • Experience across the full project lifecycle (from initiation through to benefits realisation) within both structured and agile project environments
  • An appreciation of the business context you’re working in, considering all perspectives, and being clear on the ‘why’
