Job Description

Primary Purpose of the Role:

Responsible for centralized management of projects and programs within the Global Government (G2) organization, aimed at ensuring standardization, reducing duplication and leveraging resources such as people, technology, and communication.

The major role of the Delivery group is to define and maintain process standards by providing a framework to establish standard performance measures based on organizational goals and objectives, and providing tools and procedures to achieve this.

Estimation of the size of the project, the time and resources the project requires and lays down the project methodologies through many PMO tools and instruments

Develop a team of competent project managers through training and mentoring. Such project managers ensure implementation and maintenance of the project methodology and retain the team members’ focus on the tasks in hand

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Be responsible for generating but not limited to the following;

Project Business Case as and when required

Project Implementation Plans (PMP)s fully breakdown of deliverables detailing schedules of activities, milestones, statements of work, project budgets, review timetables and other deliverables required from the project team

Work Breakdown Structure defines the specific deliverables due from each team member, at each stage of the project;

Quality and Governance Plans identifies what is required to deliver a quality product and how the project will be managed

Communication Plan establishes the protocol, procedure, and methods to communicate project information and issues among members of the team;

Forms and Templates simplify communication, record-keeping and reporting;

Risk Analysis list out potential problems and chances of deviance from the project methodology, the probability of such occurrences, the possible impact, and possible solutions.

Statements of Works ensure the demand put on suppliers, internal and external are clear in terms of requirements, delivery deadlines, contracting terms if necessary, payment schedules, pass/fail criteria of deliverables etc.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

Must have a bachelor’s level degree in engineering or business administration

Must have previous experience in leading a Project Management Office, preferably with experience of working with the military

Must hold a PMBOK, PMP or PRINCE2 qualification
