Job Description

Primary role purpose:

  • Develop the revenue assurance strategy for all revenue products (recurring & ad hoc), including identification and prevention of revenue leakage activities, evaluation of controls coverage, gap analysis, expansion of controls across systems and products and the continuous improvement across all revenue assurance activities
  • Embed and then accountable for the process, including the design and execution of projects to deliver new capabilities, which facilitates the systematic revenue recovery and cost saving across all revenue products through the establishment and performance of revenue leakage controls through the end to end order to cash process
  • Establish a virtual working group with IT, BI, Finance, Billing and Product functions to design & implement new controls
  • Providing meaningful exception reporting of billing data

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead a risk based approach to revenue assurance across all of Inmarsat’s revenue streams which constantly adapts to changing business processes and priorities
  • Lead the design and development of both recurring and ad hoc revenue assurance reviews and processes to address changing risk profiles, systems evolution both inside and outside Finance or high visibility revenue streams
  • Driving added value for Inmarsat by seeking and identifying revenue enhancement opportunities as part of both recurring and ad hoc reviews
  • Be a catalyst for other functional areas of Inmarsat to deliver on revenue enhancement opportunities
  • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the revenue assurance process
  • Providing meaningful analysis of billing data for business teams
  • Improvement of Revenue Assurance & Analysis systems and tools
  • Prepare and present revenue assurance risks, findings, and revenue enhancement opportunities with appropriate content for senior stakeholders up to Exec levels
  • Accountable for the overall assessment and continuous improvement of Inmarsat's business practices, processes and controls in respect to revenue protection
  • Working closely with the Billing Evolution Manager, Billing Excellence Manager and senior stakeholders, ensure effective revenue assurance processes and controls are built into new products, services and processes wherever reasonably justified
  • Regular assessment of the efficiency and effectiveness of revenue assurance reviews and the performance of team members carrying out those reviews
  • Analysing revenue data and identifying revenue leakage
  • Ensuring major leakage issues are rapidly detected and acted upon
  • Championing revenue protection issues across the organisation, influencing and engaging key stakeholders on activities and resource requirements
  • Updating processes, training and governance documents
  • Providing comprehensive revenue risk analysis
  • Ensuring robust Revenue Assurance projects are initiated and completed
  • Management of the team including recruitment and career management
  • Create an environment where the team is exhibiting effort, drive and professionalism
  • Assess and report the team's achievements and performance
  • Provide leadership and direction to the team
  • Actively seek areas to improve controls and reduce fraud opportunities

 

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Implementation of all new Revenue Assurance controls
  • Revenue enhancement opportunities of $xxx identified of which x% are implemented
  • Achieve Revenue Leakage gap which does not exceed $XX to ensure that target EBIT is not compromised
  • Reduction in revenue leakage

 

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Clear, demonstrable and extensive experience of end to end Revenue Assurance within the telecommunication and / or satellite sector, including associated Risk Management tools
  • Excellent analytical skills and vast experience in financial and business analysis
  • Experience of driving continuous improvement throughout the end to end revenue assurance process and controls
  • Strong presentation, training and reporting skills
  • Good project management skills
  • Ability to make informed decisions, to plan, delegate and prioritise work effectively for the team and to coach and mentor the team
  • Ability to prioritise and work on multiple projects
  • Clear communication and presentation skills
