Job Description

Primary role purpose:

The Sales Operations graduate sits within the Aviation Business Units (ABU) Sales Operations team and will be responsible for providing operational support to the sales team. This support will include sales intelligence analysis & reporting, CRM management, Lead to Order (L2O) sales process support & the development of the ABU’s sales excellence program. The objective for the role is to help create a world class sales team through continual improvement across the end-to-end sales process.

The successful applicant will closely support the sales operations & sales Intelligence teams providing a high standard of sales data capture and sales performance analytics, identifying trends, risks, opportunities and insight. They will support the development of any methodology, tools or supporting technologies necessary for the effective collation, storage and dissemination of sales intelligence and the establishment of sales excellence.

This is a truly multiple discipline role with the opportunity of having a significant impact on the business and therefore requires someone with a passion for business, a high level of intellectual curiosity and robust personality that can maintain the momentum of continual change.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of strategic programs in support of sales growth.
  • Support the running and improvement of the ABU L2O process.
  • Drive proactive, continuous improvements and innovations to the structure and functionality of the Aviation Salesforce CRM system.
  • Maintain and expand the contents of the Salesforce system, prioritising data integrity and working with the wider business to ensure that all relevant data is captured accurately.
  • Create ad hoc and regular Salesforce & Tableau reporting and dashboards to support, influence and challenge business decisions and monitor KPIs like account and salesperson performance.
  • Work with sales, commercial and other teams across the business unit to in the creation and adoption of the sales excellence program.
  • Navigate multiple data sources, converting raw data into meaningful and actionable insights and gathering qualitative information from stakeholders
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports.
  • Support the Sales Intelligence & CRM Manager and Sales operations team with any other tasks as required.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Highly motivated self-starter with a focus on personal and professional development.
  • Undergraduate degree in an analytical, commercial or numerate discipline. E.g. Economics, Maths, Business Management, Operational Research, Engineering, Sciences.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office software suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working with large, sometimes incomplete, datasets to create meaningful analysis and actionable insights.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and have the ability to define and solve problems by using available data and making reasonable assumptions.
  • Attention to detail and an ability to spot issues and inconsistencies in data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an ability to think differently and challenge the current approach.

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • A background or experience in a sales role.
  • Experience using Salesforce or comparable CRM system.
  • Previous experience of reporting or analytics tools like Tableau, OBIEE, SAP Business Objects.
  • Knowledge of the aviation and/or satellite industries.
