Job Description



Role Purpose: 

  • To project control all resources required to deliver project Odyssey; and
  • To support the project manager with progress reporting including schedule updates, forecast to complete, variance identification and opportunities for improvement.

Job Requirements

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • To provide project controls management, including baseline schedule development and management, cost control and reporting, baseline change control, RAID management;
  • To advise on the application of effective planning techniques and controls, ensuring that project controls processes are consistently applied across the project.;
  • To support the development of integrated master schedule for the project, that reflects all interface milestones and activity durations from multiple contractors’ schedules and feed changes to the integrated master schedule;
  • To monitor, control and report on project progress;
  • To develop and manage project governance and decision making structures, including Steer Co meetings;
  • To provide overall quality assurance of the project, in line with Portfolio Office processes and project delivery lifecycle; and
  • Ensure lessons learned are logged and actioned as part of a continual improvement process.


Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Experience working with construction contractors;
  • Strong skills in creating and maintaining project and programme plans, including risks, actions, issues, dependencies;
  • Advanced understanding of project controls concepts and ability to communicate ideas to others.
  • Programme and project assurance;
  • Strong financial capability;
  • Diplomatic ability to influence others at all levels of the business ; and
  • Strong and demonstrated ability to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to competently mediate disagreements and negotiate agreeable resolutions
  • Experience with programme and project tools such as Project Server, MS project, P6


Qualifications:

Relevant project management qualification e.g., PRINCE2 /APM (desirable)
