Job Description

Primary Purpose of the Role:


Inmarsat upgraded SAP in 2017 and launched a new Procurement Portal on 22 January 2018. The successful candidate will join the Global Procurement team to leverage the enhanced capability of SAP, the current capability of Concur and Curtis Fitch and analyse vendor spend across the Inmarsat group. The role will involve collating and analysing vendor spend data, developing and publishing performance dashboards and supporting the change management agenda. There will be regular engagement with the VP Global Procurement and the wider team to gather the data and explain the analysis.

The Candidate

The candidate will enjoy working as part of a team, be numerate and enjoy explaining complex analysis. Inmarsat continues to develop so flexibility and an appetite for change is important. Some experience of procurement and/or commercial and/or finance would be an advantage.


Key Responsibilities

  • Data gathering and analysis of vendor spend data
  • Data gathering and analysis of the performance of the procurement processes including sourcing and purchase to pay
  • Develop and publish regular performance dashboards which will include the number of vendors, value, number of transactions, payment terms and savings
  • Engage with stakeholders from within the Global Procurement team to gather the data and explain the analysis
  • Support the continuous improvement of implementation of SAP, Concur and Curtis Fitch in Procurement
  • Support the change management activity including developing communication and training material and supporting users queries


Essential Knowledge And Skills:

  • Proven experience of analysing quantitative data, coupled with a logical, disciplined and structured approach to documentation and processes
  • Excellent spoken and written communication
  • A natural organiser – but flexible
  • Proven ability to succeed on both an individual and team basis
  • Degree level educated or equivalent: numerate disciplines favourable
  • An interest in procurement
