Job Description

Primary role purpose:

Working within the Aviation business unit, the Marketing and Communications Assistant (Apprenticeship) will become an integral part of the team, playing an important role in the day to day delivery of tactical marketing activities. This will range from research, planning for major aviation events, co-ordinating and helping the team prepare for key meetings, learning how to maintain and update the digital marketing channels.

We are a fun and energetic team and as your skills and confidence grow we will give you more and more responsibility, ultimately becoming a key player in driving the Inmarsat Aviation story to the market. However, on day one, you will be supported by experienced individuals that will guide and mentor you helping to ensure you succeed.

Over the duration of the apprenticeship you’ll learn about the role of a marketer in a global organisation and develop all the skills you need to be effective through on-the-job learning and training delivered by an apprenticeship provider appointed by us.

What you’ll cover

The programme introduces many of the key activities undertaken within the marketing function and the skills required to be effective.

Whilst studying you will become a student member of the CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) giving you access to essential resources for your study and career success.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Educated to A levels (or equivalent)
  • An interest in Marketing and Communications and a desire to build a career in this industry
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A team player with the ability to work on your own initiative
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to think of logical solutions
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Positive and proactive outlook
