Job Description

Primary role purpose:

The Market Development Graduate sits within the Aviation Business Units (ABU) regional development team within APAC (Singapore), and is a 2 year graduate development role, with the aim to train the graduate to become a full time Market Development Manager within the APAC team. The position also has some regional Sales Operations responsibilities which are considered to be complementary to the primary Market Development duties.

The main objective for the Market Development Executive will be to support the team in forging and maintaining influential relationships with target commercial carriers and our partner ecosystem – to comprehend their individual connectivity strategies, anticipate their commercial movements, and to ensure that Inmarsat remains, or is appointed, their provider of choice for on board passenger connectivity and cockpit safety services for their fleet of commercial aircraft.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

You will work with the regional team and directly with airlines, and/or through a network of partners. You will support the business with the relationship with carriers in the region and will be expected to support the business development with each airline from pre-proposal stage, through to live service launch, and revenue generation.

Spending time in front of airlines at their premises or at events whilst building exposure of our connectivity services is a key requirement to this role and you should be prepared to spend some proportion of your time travelling across the APAC region as and when required.

In addition to the Market Development duties you will support the regional Sales Operations team by creating, maintaining and driving improvements to the Salesforce CRM system as well as supporting the running and improvement of the ABU L2O (Lead to Order) process. You will also be tasked with creating ad hoc and regular Salesforce reporting and dashboards to support, influence and challenge business decisions and monitor key KPIs.

Other Ad-hoc duties will be assigned from time to time dependant on work load and time of year. These may include, but not be limited to, supporting our Marketing Operations team with event planning and preparation.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Degree educated – in Engineering/Business/Marketing/Aviation
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a focus on personal and professional development.
  • Good at working with and influencing people.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Ability to plan events, campaigns or strategies for green field airlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to think differently and challenge the current approach.
