Job Description

The Maritime PMO Manager is a key role to assuring quality and oversight across all project activities in the Maritime Business Unit. It is responsible for both ensuring new ideas for product enhancements, rate plans, incentives, and other initiatives are properly vetted and receive the correct levels of approval before they progress to receiving investment, and subsequently ensuring successful projects are launched effectively in a controlled manner.  The PMO Manager is a key role for tracking activities and ensuring that initiatives engage the correct stakeholders and adhere to approved processes, and being a hub for all functions to identify status and next steps of initiatives in progress.

The PMO Manager must also provide continuous improvement initiatives and consistently monitor existing processes for gaps or misalignment, and develop and propose mitigations for these.

Job Requirements

Key Accountabilities

Owner of Maritime Governance Process, ensuring new ideas/market requirements are sufficiently explored and validated, and receive senior management sign-off before Business Cases are developed:

  • Facilitate weekly Idea Evaluation Board meetings;
  • Facilitate monthly Maritime Governance Board meetings;
  • Track all submissions and provide timely feedback to requestors and stakeholders;
  • Continuously monitor process performance and actively seek out ways to improve efficiency and quality;
  • Maintain company intranet library where forms are stored and retained for reference;
  • Work closely with Investment Management to provide early visibility of ideas which will be requested to proceed into technical feasibility and Business Case.


Owner/developer of Maritime Go-to-Market framework, the process under development to improve the quality of launches and enable MBU to work towards the ‘right first time, every time’ target:

  • Primary developer of the framework and process design;
  • Support launch leads in task identification and planning;
  • Provide guidance on Project Management and team/stakeholder engagement;
  • Coordinate Gate meetings with COO;
  • Ensure artefacts and documents are stored in central repositories;
  • Ensure stakeholders are appropriately identified, engaged and provide sign-off;
  • Facilitate post-mortem reviews to allow for open feedback, gather improvement recommendations, and measure outcomes against requirements and forecasts.


Key Relationships

The Maritime PMO Manager is a key point of contact into the Maritime Business Unit for all functional areas of the business. The PMO Manager must maintain strong working relationships and communication with stakeholders across the business to support initiatives meeting requirements, timelines and quality.  Strong relationships with all functions within the Maritime Business Unit are essential; the key relationships external to the BU include: 

  • Product Group; especially Product Managers
  • Investment Management
  • Product Development
  • Operations, including: GCO (Customer Services), Portfolio Management Office, Service Assurance, Billing, Service Introduction.
