Job Description

Primary Role Purpose

The Global Government business unit is leading the development of iMPACT!, which is revolutionising the sales process by using disruptive technologies to create an immersive, engaging simulation environment.  The iMPACT! suite consists of 2D, 3D and VR technologies primarily using the Unity game engine which are used to engage with customers by allowing them to understand Inmarsat products using simulations.  This facility has successfully completed its first phase of development and, following the positive reception by key players in the satellite communication community, it has been included as a key component of a future pan-European governmental satellite capacity management capability (GovSatCom).  Consequently, we need to expand the team to meet the emerging needs of the facility.

The successful candidate will contribute to and manage content creation of scenarios and demonstrations, working under the guidance of the iMPACT! and GovSatCom managers. The successful candidate will be a key player in the future GovSatCom programme, mediating the iMPACT! capabilities in development and the GovSatCom programme objectives.

The candidate will join a small, dynamic team with an approved budget and drive from the CEO, managed by the Strategy and Innovation team within the Global Government Business Unit.

This role presents a unique opportunity to work in a small team developing simulations of real life scenarios where satellite communications play a vital role in safety of life or successful execution of government and military missions. The candidate will apply skills learned in gaming environments to capture and visualise complex systems and scenarios and present them interactively, using advanced technologies, to promote Inmarsat's “digital agenda”.
