Job Description

Primary role purpose:

This placement opportunity will support the commercial and sales teams, as well as the wider Aviation Business Unit with day to day market and commercial intelligence gathering (externally/internally).

The successful candidate will run the cleaning up of market monitoring and databases, as well as interface with the CRM business owners to make sure all key data is captured accurately.

The individual will also work on ad hoc projects including but not limited to Term Sheet submissions for airline prospects, and ad hoc price analysis to support the commercial directors.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tracking of airline demand trends for connectivity
  • Tracking of public information available on direct competition, incl. financial results
  • Develop and manage databases for airlines information and aviation connectivity
  • Manage access to subscriptions of key information such as specialised news and third party information databases for the Aviation industry and used during the sales/commercial process
  • Develop/expand network of informal information sources: external research analysts; external consultants; heads of insights/intelligence at airlines and at distributors/suppliers of Inmarsat; internal SMEs, recent recruits from other companies
  • Support the lead to order process and provide the required market intelligence inputs
  • Aggregate and organise tactical intelligence gathered through commercial pursuits and customer approaches
  • Adapt ad hoc Term Sheets for Bid Management Director
  • Lead Ad hoc pricing analysis and databases for Commercial Directors

Key dimensions of the role

  • The role does not involve managing a specific budget but may require raising requests and tracking approvals for market intelligence studies and reports

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working towards or achieved an undergraduate degree in a highly analytical and numerate degree
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail with the ability to spot trends or inconsistencies in data
