Job Description

Primary role purpose:

The incumbent will play a key role in the Enterprise Business Unit (EBU) that will drive the transformation of the team to a data driven organisation, delivering managed services.

The Business Analyst will assess the Enterprise Business Unit’s performance against the annual budget and the long term strategy. They will independently produce internal management level reporting on results. In addition to monthly business analysis and reporting, the candidate will support business case and financial modelling to facilitate decisions on new market and product development initiatives, as well as supporting the annual budget and strategy process.

In executing this role the incumbent is expected to have a well-developed understanding of key business drivers so that they can work across the BU in focusing broad business challenges down into the specific business questions to be solved. They will use and present data and analytics to provide robust answers which drive business actions.

The incumbent will work closely with other members of the corporate BI & Analytics community. The role will report to VP Operations EBU.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

This is a singleton post in the BU.  It is expected that the individual will draw on best practice from similar functions across the wider business. 

  • Manipulate large quantities of complex data to extract meaningful content and deliver access to clear and accurate business information for key stakeholders.
  • Develop and enhance internal business performance reporting tools.
  • Work with key stakeholders to define reporting requirements and continually improve the relevance of reporting.
  • Ensure reporting is aligned with the EBU strategic and business priorities.
  • Contribute to the EBU budget and business planning process.
  • Identify key analytics and metrics to be included in management reporting.
  • To be the point person for analytical tools (ie Tableau, Ibis, SFDC) for EBU who :
    • Communicates the most effective way to use the tools
    • To create analytics and visualisations that meet the business needs
    • Demonstrates best practice with the tools and focuses on consistency and excellence
    • Coaches and develops EBU user community on outputs and outcomes
    • Promotes the Analyst role within EBU

Advises EBU on the Analyst community and wider resources available

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Graduate with professional qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in data modelling and analysis.
  • Superior analytical skills coupled with good business understanding.
  • Demonstrable expertise with developing and utilising BI tools that have driven business decisions and value.
  • Creative problem solver and decision maker.
  • Strong people skills, confident and comfortable at engaging collaboratively in an intellectual and multi-cultural environment at all levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Curiosity and a determination to understand why.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with passion for excellence and innovation.
  • Proactive with the ability to effectively manage various projects while adhering to deadlines.
