Primary role purpose:

Inmarsat is the world’s leading provider of global mobile satellite communications services, delivering reliable voice and high-speed data communications on land, at sea and in the air.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Content Coordinator whose primary task will be to work closely with the various Product Delivery Managers to manage and maintain cross-market product documentation on various Inmarsat portals for both internal and external audiences.

As part of this, you will be responsible for the Governance of the Product Data Sheets which serve as our contractual documentation. These are available on our Partner Portal which is a ‘one-stop-shop’ for all of Inmarsat’s product and service offerings and price plans, so that our customers know what they will get and how much it will cost if they decide to subscribe.

Your precise attention to detail, organizational habits, focus on standardization and ability to motivate people to work with you under the set timelines will allow you to effectively manage work across different products and portals from start to finish. Equally important will be your solid background in copywriting to translate complicated product details so consumers and staff can understand the material. This is a unique opportunity to use your previous writing experience and your top notch technical skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and publishing tools, as they are critical for your success in this role.

Job Requirements

The right candidate will be expected to:

  • Own, manage, and evolve the Processes and Governance surrounding the customer-facing website, liaising across the business to achieve this with teams such as Contracts; Pricing; Legal; Product Management; Business Units; Marketing Communications
  • Ensure that all stakeholders involved in the overall process for creating and updating the Product Data Sheets are sufficiently comfortable with the process and their role(s) in it, and provide refresher sessions where necessary
  • Maintain the source content and templates that feed the website, to ensure they are always kept fully up to date
  • Monitor and chase completion of other activities where required if road-blocks occur to the smooth running of the processes for the website, to ensure that all new and updated products and services on the website are available in time for commercial introduction
  • Review the website processes on a regular basis to identify improvements and efficiencies
  • Own and manage the processes to upload new or existing online or printed content and resources on the intranet and/or in SharePoint
  • Proof-read and ‘curate’ content of new or updated content submitted by internal stakeholders to ensure it meets corporate content and branding guidelines, and uses established and accepted terminology
  • Maintain a library of such documentation, pages, and content and regularly review to see if any content has become obsolete and requires archiving, especially if a product or service has been deemed ‘End of Life’
  • Establish and maintain governance around reviews of new or updated documentation and content for the Intranet, and facilitate such reviews accordingly
  • Work across the different commercial markets and business models, e.g., Wholesale and Retail, to widen and enhance their participation in storage of such content on the Intranet, for the benefit of the whole company
  • Promote best practices with regard to content development, arrangement and display of website content, and content validation
  • Note that you will sometimes be asked to help with other activities supporting the wider Product Delivery Management team

Essential knowledge and skills:

  • Technical or business background

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, content management and publishing systems
