Job Description

Primary Purpose of the Role:

Supporting the Director, Decision Support, Aviation in creating commercial finance models to support decision making.  Providing comprehensive, commercially focused, high quality business case analysis on a range of investment decisions.  The role will ensure that the business unit has the information available to it to support deal negotiation and to optimise price, risk and cost.  Including working with the Aviation Business Unit commercial and sales teams to ascertain relevant cost and revenue information. 

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be proactively involved in preparation for all department business cases, taking a lead or support role as necessary but always ensuring that a concise high quality business case is prepared in support of all major business
  • Supporting the director of decision support, to proactively and reactively provide ad hoc financial and operational analysis and advice that will help the Business Unit to deliver optimal operational performance through high quality strategic and tactical business decisions.
  • Support the Director to ensure that the Review Board presentations are provided to the management team on an accurate and timely basis together with a concise, action orientated, business focused commentary and strong financial rationale.  
  • Support Aviation Business Unit with preparation of business cases for new and ongoing products.

 

 Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Commercially astute.
  • Strong Excel modelling capabilities
  • Have a good appreciation of core financial appraisal methodologies, such as NPV, payback, etc.  accounting standards, policies, processes and systems. 

 

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • At least three years’ of progressive experience in accounting, financial modelling and analysis within quality companies.
  • Superior analytical skills coupled with good strategic business understanding leading to key business insight.
  • Creative problem solver and decision maker. Able to quickly distil high quality analysis. 
  • Strong people skills, confident and comfortable at engaging collaboratively in an intellectual and analytical environment at all levels. Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work across cultures and time zones.
