Job Description

Primary role purpose:

The purpose of this role is to provide insight into the working practice of processes, organisation and behaviours of the business unit. The focus will be on creating and driving measurable economic value by applying knowledge, expertise and challenge to influence business decisions making. The Business Intelligence Manager will be responsible for the creation and delivery of standard management reports as well as working with the wider team to gather and disseminate information. The role will vary between structure reporting and ad hoc investigation into specific inquiries.

As part of the role, you will also provide guidance, instruction, direction and leadership to the Business Intelligence Analyst(s) in G2.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Business Intelligence

  • Work with customers, business partners and senior business intelligence managers to identify opportunities for improvements, and design and implement these solutions;
  • Identify intelligence needs of each department through one-to-one communications of key employees; duties specific to this function may include the assessment of the following: what decisions need to be made, why decisions need to be made, when decisions need to be made, and who will use the intelligence to make the decisions;
  • Monitor internal and external environments for development of new business processes;
  • Perform market research and analysis;
  • Gather information for project-related research; analyze that information; and produce reports based on the analyses;
  • Participate in management meetings related to intelligence reporting;
  • Implement the recommendations of intelligence reporting and management;
  • Prioritize, plan, and track project progress;
  • Provide status and performance reporting to the G2 president;
  • Provide robust analytical support to a range of stakeholders and deliver complex advice and in-depth analysis to underpin performance monitoring across the key G2 functions;
  • Manage end to end delivery of a range of structured initiatives and projects (such as strategy scenarios, budgets/forecasts, performance monitoring, investment appraisals and risk and opportunity analyses);
  • Use expert knowledge of the G2 standards and working practise to provide regular monitoring reports, review and provide expert feedback on improvement plans, provide deep dive analysis and work with the wider team to implement good practice models;
  • Provide performance management analysis to support and facilitate planning and risk management processes, identifying quality indicators and highlight areas of over and under performance against expected levels;
  • Ensure communication of consistent messages across all users. 

Team management

  • Manage day to day service delivery of the team;
  • Supervise, mentor and manage team member(s);
  • Plan and coordinate all work and support the team member(s) providing direction as required and proactively work with the team to resolve issues;
  • Prioritize projects and assignments, taking into account capacity and skill set of team members;
  • Responsible for personnel management including performance reviews, development and coaching.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a business analytical environment;
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen;
  • Clarity and precision in verbal and written communications;
  • Experience in team leadership and mentoring;
  • Ability to interact comfortably with the other members of a large, geographically dispersed team;
  • International expertise and proven ability to distil relevant analytics for diverse geographical markets;
  • Demonstrable industry experience;
  • 2 + years’ experience delivery business intelligence insight in a sales environment;
  • Ability to work in a flexible environment.


Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong Microsoft office skills;
  • Good knowledge of data visualisation software such as Tableau.
