Job Description

Primary role purpose:

The primary purpose of the position is to coordinate all the various sources of information arising from production issues experienced since go live of BTP Releases 3, 4 and potentially 5.  The position-holder is the primary point of contact for Inmarsat’s various teams which are addressing production issues post go live, will coordinate and collate the various status’ arising from their actions and help respond to various internal parties and external customers who have been impacted by billing production issues. 

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with Global Customer Operations (“GCO”) capture and correlate all customer reported issues (trouble tickets) which relate to the known production issues.
  • Working with the Production issues support team (Cognizant, IT Ops, IT Dev, etc.) correlate the status of each production issue and capture appropriate status in a non-technical business language.
  • Working with Billing Dispute management team and Billing Operations to capture and correlate the status of outstanding credit notes.
  • Assist various groups with the preparation of both internal and external communications of the status and impact of production issues to allow timely and complete information to flow to all impacted parties until issues are resolved and stabilized.
  • Assist with customer complaint investigations.

 

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • University degree, probably business or IT-related or equivalent.
  • Good standard of written English; ability to prepare concise written summaries when required.
  • Good standard of numeracy and an aptitude for working with structured data in an analytic way.
  • Ability to work in an environment where every solution is not always at hand and using own initiative to improve procedures.
  • Reasonable working knowledge of standard office automation software: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with the other members of the various cross functional Inmarsat groups and with external contacts as required.
  • Ability to quickly absorb new learning experiences and to deploy new knowledge quickly and effectively.

 

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Reasonable understanding or appreciation of high-transaction volume billing systems.
  • Experience in a similar role in a mobile/telecommunications operator.
  • Experience of system analysis or testing.
